In the early eighties of the last century, Emirate of Fujairah witnessed an active movement of the private sector and notable expansion to its work base to keep pace with economic development in the emirate. So, an entity working on the care and the representation of the private sector and the business community, protect and provide services to its members must have been established. H.H Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah issued Emiri Decree No. (1) of 1981 to establish Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and industry as an independent institution of public interest has legal personality and civil legal full to achieve its purposes and the exercise of the powers vested to it under the provisions of this Act. It shall have financial and administrative independence and its purpose is representing the private sector and organising the commercial and industrial interests, protecting and developing them to achieve the interests of its members in the public interest of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Fujairah.
